No. Every painting is sketched and painted entirely by hand, in paint on canvas, by a real artist in Kampala, Uganda, and signed by them. You approve a hand-drawn sketch before painting begins.Can I get it by Christmas?
Yes, if you order by November 15 (November 8 for XL and Museum sizes). That leaves time for your sketch approval, painting and shipping.How long does a commission take?
Most paintings take 2–4 weeks total. The artist sends a first sketch within ~4 business days. Once you approve it, the finished painting typically ships within 2–3 weeks depending on size and complexity.What does the 20% deposit cover?
The deposit reserves your artist's time and starts the work. It's applied to your total, you'll only be invoiced for the remaining 80% after you approve the artist's first sketch. If the sketch isn't right, we'll revise it.When is the final balance due?
You're invoiced for the remaining balance only after you approve the first sketch and we begin the final painting. No surprise charges.Can I get the painting framed?
Yes, optional U.S.-finished frames are available from $100. You can also choose 'No frame' if you'd prefer to frame it locally.How do you ship internationally?
Paintings ship worldwide from our Kampala studio with full tracking and insurance. US shipping is roughly $50 for the smallest size up to $200 for Museum size; the exact amount is confirmed at finalization.What if I don't like the sketch?
We revise it. The whole point of the sketch-approval step is to make sure you're delighted before we paint the final piece. If we genuinely can't get it right, your deposit is refunded.How is the artist chosen, and are they paid fairly?
You pick the artist whose style resonates most. Both artists are paid the same flat 30% of every commission they take, regardless of which one you choose. 50% of every purchase goes directly to the orphanage.
